Sculptra
A Poly-L-Lactic Acid/ Collagen Stimulator
Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen—the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cells and tissue.
Sculptra works with your body to stimulate collagen production lost to aging, rebuilding and reinforcing your skin’s structural foundation. Through a series of treatments, typically about three sessions over a few months, it restores the support and volume of youthful looking skin, providing results that can last up to two years.
As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles.
Sculptra works with your body within the deep dermis to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.
As the Sculptra PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production.
Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.
What to expect during a Sculptra treatment ?
Treatment with SCULPTRA is considered minimally invasive and often results in very little downtime. During the procedure, the treatment area is numbed with a topical anesthetic or local anesthetic to reduce any pain associated with the injections. Injections are placed according to a planned diagram marked on the skin, and the entire treatment can take about 30 minutes. Once the injections have been administered, ice is applied to the area to reduce swelling and redness. Mild swelling and bruising will be present in the treatment areas, however, this should dissipate in the days following the procedure. The full results of SCULPTRA treatment are typically seen within 3 to 4 months, and usually at least 3 sessions are recommended for maximal results in most cases.
